The student leadership team at Crowborough’s Beacon Academy set up a stall selling cakes and pastries during break and lunchtime on Friday March 25 and raised £534 for the Emergency Committee’s Humanitarian Appeal Disaster Relief (DEC) for Ukraine. This helps bring help to those in need, both in Ukraine and at the borders.
Morrisons Crowborough Community Champion Erin generously donated and delivered cakes for students to sell, which were added to the homemade and store-bought cakes and pastries donated by students, parents and staff.
The management team were delighted with the level of support from their fellow students and school staff.
Personal Development Manager at Beacon Academy, Lorna Miller, said, “In addition to supporting our own community within Beacon, the student leadership team has been looking for ways to help those currently seeking refuge in Ukraine.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported the bake sale and helped our students raise a significant amount for the appeal. The student leadership team is justifiably proud of what they have accomplished, as is we are proud of them.”
